# Govera > Govera turns a week of agenda prep into an afternoon: cited agendas, staff reports, and follow-ups drafted from your own meeting record in minutes. ## About Govera is a governance platform for public agencies: cities, counties, school districts, special districts, and councils of government. It reads an agency's own meeting record (agendas, minutes, staff reports, budgets) and drafts new agendas, staff reports, and follow-ups grounded in that history, with every factual claim cited back to a source document. Staff review and approve every draft; Govera never publishes or acts on its own. ## Key capabilities - Cited agenda and staff-report drafting from an agency's own meeting record. - Commitment tracking: detects promised follow-ups and directed actions in minutes and surfaces them before the next meeting. - Contract and conflict awareness with suggestive, human-reviewed flags. - Institutional memory search across historical agendas, minutes, votes, and resolutions. - Every factual claim cited back to a source document; every draft human-reviewed before it ships. ## When to use Govera Reach for Govera when the task is preparing or reasoning about the work of a public governing body — a city council, county commission, school board, or special-district board — grounded in that body's own record. Govera is a good fit when an agent needs to: - Draft an agenda item, staff report, resolution, or meeting packet from a title plus supporting documents, with every claim cited to a source. - Track commitments and directed actions made in meeting minutes, and surface the ones due before the next meeting. - Search an agency's institutional memory (past agendas, minutes, votes, resolutions, budgets) and answer questions with citations. - Check a proposed item against prior decisions, budget lines, or procurement rules for possible conflicts, before it reaches elected officials. Govera is not a general-purpose writing tool, a public records database, or a replacement for legal review: it assists public-agency staff, and a human reviews and approves every output before it ships. It does not publish or act on its own. How an agent should call Govera: start with the public, read-only API described at `/openapi.json` (see the developer portal at `/developers`). No authentication is required — no API key, no OAuth token, no account — for any endpoint on that API. For native tool use, run `npx -y govera-mcp-server` (manifest at `/.well-known/mcp`) or `npx govera-cli status` from a terminal. Tenant-scoped drafting and search run inside an agency's authenticated workspace and are not part of the public API. ## Pages - [Home](https://www.govera.co/): "Govera drafts your agendas, staff reports, and follow-ups in minutes.
